End of Week 4 - weigh in result

2 words in my best scouse accent - APPY DAYZ.

So 2 milestones were hit this week. I have lost my 1st stone since starting my journey and joining buddy slim. I also weigh under 300lbs for the first time for as long as i can remeber…or so i thought.

I was looking through some stuff on saturday when i came across my weight slips from when i used to pop to boots every saturday, the lowest one was from feb 2008 and said i weighed 256lbs. I truly dont remember getting this low but rather than getting depressed about where I am now I focused on 2 things, 1: i will get back there shortly and pass it, 2: how the hell did i put on 54lbs in the past 14 months?!? the answer to this is that i dont know, i know i ate a lot of takeaways etc but it worried me and it will not happen again.

Weigh in at end of week 3

ok, so we had a setback last weigh in by putting a lot of it back on. So started last monday with the determination to lose what i had put back on the previous week.

Watched what i ate and never went over my calories all week, then..the dreaded weekend.

We went with family to the Halifax agricultural show on saturday, which was a lovely day out but as usual with these things you have lots of burger vans, sweet stalls and food tasting. I did not want to be bad so wasnt going to eat, just planned to stock up on caffeine to keep the hunger at bay. But alas as it was warm the heat started to get to me and i had to eat. Opted for the best i could which was a baked potato with beans and cheese (couldnt not have the cheese). throughout the day i  tried a few pickles and chutneys and had to go the sweet stall as they had my favouritest ever - chocolate covered coconut ice, yuck some of you are thinking! Managed to eat well in the evening.

As yesterday was a lovely day too decided to get the bike out and head out for a ride down the canal, 7.5 miles covered and felt really really good for the rest of the day and subsiquently ate well.

So this morning rolled around and i stepped onto the scales, to my suprise I had lost all of what i had put on and then some. total loss of 8lbs this week, WHOOP WHOOP!

So its 10lbs down and a hell of a lot more to go but feeling really determined because when i have tried it has fallen off.

good luck to you all and enjoy your monday (god theyre so dull!)

just a quick thanx

yep thats right, thanks to everyone who posted on my last blog and for the messages it has really helped, like really really, i have now managed to lose the 5lbs that were gained last week and although a week behind schedule not going back up towards my start again. yay

Sudden loss of motivation and only a week and half in!

yep thats right the title says it all, its been a crap week and im hoping that writing this down will make me think what the hell you doin boy, you started so well.

Been a tough week with one thing or another, firstly headed out for a drink on tuesday night which was followed up with a chicken kebab.

Then on wednesday my girlfriends sister and her new partner came to visit us and we went to a lovely italian restaurant, but seeing how it was 2 days before payday my wallet ruled unfortunatly and the option was pizza and chips, which whilst bad was made worse by the fact that i had overslept in the morning and been forced to buy my food all day which in this case is a sandwich van with no nutritional information on anything.

Yesterday i again overslept and had to buy lunch, opted for a ham sald roll and some low fat crisps. Then during the day i got a phone call saying that the tribunal against my previous employer had gone through that day and we had won so would all be getting paid our 90 day statutory notice, this of course led to a celebration when i got home, which for me was a lovely sandwich, sausage roll, peperami, crisps and a bit of chocolate.

I didnt gain yesterday or monday but wednesdays antics at the  italian have meant im off track having had a week where i have lost nothing and infact edged 3lbs back up towards my start weight.

My problem is that when i get like this i generally work on a week rather than a day and therefore think well this week is well and truly screwed and eat what i want until the next one starts. trying to change this mentality this week and have a good weekend and hopefully weigh in the same as this monday when it comes but its hard. grrrrr

End of Week 1

ok so week one is down. Some would argue whether it is the hardest or the easiest of the journey. Personally it was relatively easy except for the weekend, which is always my nemesis.

Had a bit of a slip up on friday as decided to go for a drink, which in itself wasnt too bad, 3 bottles of magners but given the “hippy” nature of the village i live in i was not surprised when a lovely lady came round the beer garden with some home made pakora, which of course it was rude to say no to. As i now had a taste for it and a couple of drinks in me i ended up with a takeaway, opted for the best i could which was a chicken kebab. Decided not to punish myself too much as what was done was done.

Got up on saturday determined to head out on a bike ride and to my amazement i managed to get up and get out. the result, 6.2 miles along the canal, but now very saddle sore and if anyone knows a magical cure then please tell!

Struggled through sunday nibbling a few bits of ham etc on top of my normal meals and all in all a successful weekend in my opinion.

Hit the scales this morning to see 7lbs off in a week so a happy boy this monday morning and determined to go on.

Time for a fresh start

ok, so ive tried before and failed.

time now for a new start without the old excuses.

I have tried it all before, calories counting, weight watchers, slim fast, hoodia patches.

This time im starting it off with the special K 2 week challenge, ok maybe another fad but i needed something to start me off as i was on about 4-5000 calories a day.

so far its working, 5 days in and 5lbs gone and feeling better about it, now time to start introducing the exercise, with it being friday i have no excuses not to get the bike out and head down the canal.

official weigh day monday so see what the weekend brings, hopefully the boredom eating will be staved off and it will be a sucessful start.
